Vantage Media CEO Steve Jillings to Speak At ERA Great Ideas Summit

EL SEGUNDO, CA (JANUARY 26, 2010) – Vantage Media, one of the largest and fastest growing performance search marketing firms, today announced that CEO Steve Jillings will speak at The Great Ideas Summit 2010, presented by the Electronic Retailing Association, February 1-3, 2010 in New Orleans. Jillings was selected to speak on the panel, "The Great Debate: an Open Forum on Online Marketing Best Practices" on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.

"As the lines between online and traditional direct response marketing channels begin to blur, it’s clear that there’s an immense gap between where many direct marketing companies are and where they could be with their online and offline marketing efforts," said Jillings. "After working with hundreds of top brands in the most sophisticated online consumer industries, we’re looking forward to debating best practices and answering questions such as how and why to demand performance from your online marketing partners, how to use online marketing to enhance your brand and why social media is currently no silver bullet."

What:
The Great Ideas Summit 2010 -- formerly known as the eRetailer Summit -- will tackle the hottest issues facing the direct-to-consumer industry resulting from the convergence of online and traditional marketing channels. Among the topics under discussion at this education-focused conference will be affiliate marketing, the future of paid programming and mobile commerce.

During "The Great Debate: an Open Forum on Online Marketing Best Practices" session, Jillings and other panelists will come together in a meaningful forum to discuss how one size definitely does not fit all when it comes to online marketing techniques. In fact, almost without anyone noticing, two distinct online marketing disciplines have emerged: direct response and e-commerce. Interestingly, the best practices separately developed by these practitioners are quite different—and often diametrically opposed. Whether it’s search marketing, customer experience strategies, the use of auto- or click-to-play video, the differences in techniques are marked. Experts from both areas will discuss the many fascinating differences and gain perspective—and useful strategies—from the other side of the fence. Attendees will learn how to strategically employ techniques used by both groups to drive conversion, revenue and customer loyalty.
